The Sales Director at Varlo will play a cruciaLOCATION: (REMOTE/HYBRID) CHERRY HILL, NJ role in driving our business growth by leading sales efforts for wholesale accounts nationwide and managing relationships with custom apparel accounts. The ideal candidate will have experience in the triathlon, cycling, and running industries and be capable of traveling to events, expos, and wholesale accounts throughout the country.
Sales Strategy and Execution:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Identify and pursue new wholesale accounts and custom apparel opportunities.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing clients.
- Stay updated on industry trends and competitor activities.
- Analyze market data to identify new opportunities and threats.
Client Relationship Management:
- Understand the unique needs of wholesale and custom apparel accounts.
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to clients.
- Act as the primary point of contact for client inquiries and concerns.
Travel and Events:
- Travel to industry events, expos, and trade shows throughout the country to promote Varlo's products and services. Represent Varlo professionally and effectively at these events. This is a hybrid role that will require days working in the home office.
- Collaborate with the marketing and product development teams to align sales efforts with marketing campaigns and product releases. Provide feedback on market demands and product performance. Ability to build community and establish strong relationships within US geography.
- Maintain accurate sales records and provide regular reports on sales performance. Utilize company CRM for tracking, record-keeping, and forecasting. Use data-driven insights to refine sales strategies.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven track record in sales, especially within the outdoor, triathlon, cycling, or running industries.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to travel frequently for events and client meetings year-round.
- Basic proficiency in sales software and tools.
- Excellent negotiation and closing skills.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of working independently.
